Skyguide

Skyguide is responsible for providing both civil and military air navigation services in Switzerland, plus adjacent airspace in neighbouring countries which has been assigned to its control.

That airspace is among the most complex in Europe: two main airways cross above the country, which, given its small size, already puts considerable demands on its air traffic management organisation. Skyguide provides these services for around 3,400 aircraft every day, ensuring maximum safety and optimum traffic flows as cost-effectively as possible. As a leading specialist in its field, it also offers further air navigation services throughout the European continent.

Environmental issues are one of Skyguide’s main concerns.  Skyguide is participating in some large European air traffic management projects and it is committed to enhancing the efficiency of air navigation services, in order to reduce aviation’s impact on the environment.
